Introduction to the Sacraments

Preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation is part of the weekly religious formation program at the second and eighth grade levels. The preparation is designed to support and help families prepare their children as they journey toward full initiation into the Catholic Church.

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist

Children who are in Second Grade in the Fall of 2025 are invited to prepare for and celebrate the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Preparation will be held during second grade class sessions throughout the school year.

• Children are expected to attend all classes and two retreat days.
• Parents are expected to attend an information session and the two retreat days with your child.

Information Sessions (For Parents-no RSVP necessary):

• Sunday, August 17th, from 10:45 – 11:45 AM in Social Hall B104

• Tuesday, August 26th, from 9:15 – 10:15 AM in Social Hall B104

• Tuesday, September 2nd, from 6:00-7:00 PM in Social Hall B104

Retreat Sessions (For Parents and Children):

• January 24th

• April 25th

Confirmation

Those in grade 8 or older who have already received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and Eucharist are invited to participate in the preparation and celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation. Preparation is on Sundays at 7:00pm-8:00pm. Confirmation preparation includes sessions for sponsors and/or parents.  There will be seven sponsor/parent sessions.  
All candidates for Confirmation are expected to attend the retreat in November or March.
